Mal Mutimer
Commenced RHS, at Bolsover Street, in 1956. Industrial Junior in 1957 and Senior in 1959. 1959: Prefect, played football in the First XIII and hockey, Company Sergeant Major in the School's Cadet Corps. Graduated with BSc (Honours) from the University of Queensland and spent majority of working life undertaking scientific research in microbiology at the University of Queensland. Returned to my alma mater in 2009 for a very enjoyable 50th Reunion.
Remember losing a cadet in the sand dunes at Lammermoor Beach during a night lantern attack exercise. After a long search he was found safe nestled into the side of a sand hill - Asleep.

I thoroughly enjoyed RHS. I had a lazy year 11 and did not realise it cost me a place on the Honour Board. Went from Industrial Junior to Academic Senior to University of Qld. Now semi retired Consulting Chemical and Mechanical Engineer, and Adjunct Professor at UQ. Ronda (NRHS) and I married in 1964 and lead a very active life. I remember fondly Bluey Wilkes who taught me and others Junior French in year 11, I have fond memories of Jim Golding, Jim Pringle, Alf Dalzell, Des McLucas, Minni O'Conner, Tom Dobson, Tom Effeni(?), Isaac Newman, and Charlie McGillchrist. I will not name the ones I did not like or respect or remember - those who knew the year will know of them. Am In touch with all my classmates. I did not ever blow up Straub's Letterbox. The culprit confessed at our 50th anniversary but shall be nameless. Ronda and I have been volunteering all our lives and expect to do so at the Commonwealth Games 2018- perhaps you will see us there.
