I was in the first grade 8 intake at high school. Thoroughly enjoyed my high school years but did not do well academically. I think that there were too many out of school distractions and at that age you don't realise the importance of applying yourself. We were fortunate that there were no ipads, mobile phones and social media at that time. Passed grade 10 and pursued a career in the electrical engineering/electronics and computer fields. I still work in the field at age 67. My wife and I currently live in Mackay.

I enjoyed my 3 years at Rocky High, being in the first group of year 8s to go to High School. We had some amazing teachers, and I was involved in Cook House swim and athletics team for Inter house Sports.

I started at this school in 1963 from the Leichardt Ward S.S. and left in September 1966. I worked in Supreme Court Rpton for 6 years then to the Supreme Court Brisbane. I worked in almost every court jurisdiction for my 44 years. Have fond memories of the school and the cadet camps. Would love to get some class photos of these years.

I attend RHS from 1963 to 1967 in the Maths/Science stream. I participated in rugby, athletics and swimming and the Army Cadet Corps. In 1966 I was Cook House Captain, Cadet Under Officer and School Captain. I received a Rugby Pocket, the Whither's Cup for cross-country run and the Aere Perennius book prize. I received an RAAF cadetship to study Aeronautical Engineering at RMIT. I served as an Air Force Officer for 35 years and was awarded the Member of the Order of Australia Medal in 1996 for my work in resource management. I was early retired in 2002 as an Air Commodore, Director General Aerospace Combat Systems for the ADF. After completing a project management consultancy with the Defence Housing Authority, I was appointed Deputy CEO and then Acting CEO Engineers Australia during a period of leadership transition. I retired to the Sunshine Coast in 2005. My volunteer activities culminated in being appointed a member of the National Council for the Endeavour Foundation for the intellectually disabled where I worked on the implementation of the NDIS program to 2019.

I had the greatest of good fortune to marry Rhonnda Volk, who also completed Senior in the same year as me at RHS. We have a happy family of three children and seven grandchildren. I am a clinical psychologist, recently retired from practice, but continue to hold a position as an Adjunct Professor in the School of Psychology at the University of Queensland. I still meet up with John Peterson, Trevor Clarkin and Ian Johnston in Brisbane. We went to Leichhardt Ward State School and then Rocky High together. Pedro, Trevor and I were born within hours of each other on 2 and 3 May 1949. It's been great to have such lifelong connections.
